Privacy Policy

🔒 The short version: We don't sell your data, we don't read your emails for advertising, and you can delete your account anytime. We use AI to help organize your inbox, and that's the only use of email content beyond delivering it to you.
1. What we collect
When you create a Clearbox account, we collect:
- Account info: Your name, the email username you choose, and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password)
- Email content: Messages sent and received through your @infobotai.com address, stored on our mail server
- Payment handles: Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Square, or Apple ID info you choose to add so others can pay you — this is optional and only shown to people you correspond with
- Usage data: Login times, which AI features you use, and basic app preferences
2. How we use AI
Clearbox uses Claude (by Anthropic) to power features like inbox sorting, reply drafts, and email summaries. When you use these features:
- Relevant email content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the AI response
- This data is used only to generate your requested output — not to train AI models
- AI features are optional — your email still works normally without ever using them
3. What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties
- We do not show ads inside Clearbox
- We do not read your emails for marketing purposes
- We do not share your payment handles with anyone except people you email
4. Data storage and security
Your emails are stored on our mail server using industry-standard IMAP infrastructure. Account passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Payment information you provide is your public handle only — we never collect or store actual financial account numbers, card details, or transaction data. All payments happen on Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or Square's own platforms, not ours.
5. Two-Factor Authentication
If you enable 2FA, your authentication secret is generated and verified locally in your browser. We do not have access to your authenticator codes.
6. Cookies and local storage
Clearbox uses browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (theme, signature, mascot choice). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics that follow you across other websites.
7. Your rights
- Access: You can view all your account data anytime by logging in
- Correction: Update your name, payment handles, and preferences in Settings
- Deletion: Request account deletion anytime — see the Account section in Settings or email us
- Export: Request a copy of your email data by contacting us
8. Children's privacy
Clearbox is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Clearbox grows. We'll note the "last updated" date above and notify active users of significant changes.
