Terms of Service

    📋 The short version: Use Clearbox responsibly, don't send spam or abuse the service, and understand that payment buttons link to third-party apps we don't control. We provide the email service for free and may need to adjust or discontinue features as we grow.
  

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Clearbox Mail account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Clearbox. By signing up, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you're creating the account for yourself.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password secure
You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account
One account per person — please don't create multiple accounts to bypass limits
We reserve the right to suspend accounts used for spam, abuse, or illegal activity

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Clearbox to:

Send spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk messages
Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Impersonate another person or organization
Violate any applicable law
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other accounts

5. AI features

Clearbox uses AI (powered by Claude/Anthropic) for inbox sorting, reply drafts, summaries, and compose assistance. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate — always review AI drafts before sending. We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated text.

6. Payment features

⚠️ Important: Clearbox displays payment buttons (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Square, Apple Pay) that link to third-party services. We do not process payments ourselves, do not hold your money, and are not responsible for disputes, fraud, or issues with transactions made through these third-party platforms. Always verify the recipient before sending money.

7. Free service & Pro plan

Clearbox's free tier includes limited AI usage per day. The Pro plan ($4.99/month or $47.88/year) removes these limits and adds extra features. We may change pricing or features with notice to active users. Pro subscriptions can be cancelled anytime; no refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

8. Storage limits

Free accounts include 250MB of email storage; Pro accounts include 5GB. We may notify you if you approach your limit. Continued use above your limit may result in being unable to receive new mail until space is freed.

9. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Clearbox is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

10. Account termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon deletion, your emails and data are permanently removed from our servers.

11. Limitation of liability

Clearbox Mail and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost emails, missed payments, or third-party payment disputes.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
